Since 1947, the Jakson Group has diversified in various industrial sectors.
In 2023-2024, Jakson ventured into the bioethanol segment under their renewable energy spectrum as Ethan Biofuel Pvt. Ltd., with a state-of-the-art 150KLPD grain ethanol distillery in Madhya Pradesh, India to boost the nation’s Ethanol Blended Petrol Program (EBP). This unit was commissioned with Ethanol Red®, complemented by Leaf’s technical support and its channel partner Catalysts. This commissioning occurred right when the Indian grain-based ethanol industry was realizing a transition from rice to maize.
In the context of a quick adaptation of different process parameters to suit maize processing – especially its milling -, the Ethan production team (including Mr. Singh, Mr. Gupta, and Mr. Sekhar), Leaf, and Catalysts worked hand-in-hand, as one team towards a common goal, achieving the productivity target at the initial stage of the commissioning.
Today, the effort continues with an optimization of the liquefaction phase, the propagation of yeast and the fermentation process parameters. This enables the Jakson group to achieve significant improvement in all KPIs – including recovery, productivity, and maximization of DS in process – targeting more than 15% v/v alcohol on maize.
